Italian designer Ellad2 has graciously given permission to teach her to-die-for original designs! This is the second pendant we are sharing with you. With a 14mm Swarovski rivoli center, it incorporates the new Superduo bead, plus crystals and seed beads. We can’t wait to share this new design with you!

Mala Beads are often used in prayer, meditation and mantra practices. We have a lovely selection of beads in wood, stone, glass, crystal…endless choices! You are welcome to bring treasures from home as well and we can incorporate them into your piece. Last time we offered this workshop it was amazing to see the creations that unfolded!

Bead pal Leayn Tabili designed this very cool pendant using a handful of curved leaf beads, netting and an 18mm Swarovski rivoli stone. The results are beautiful! Every color combo is more beautiful than the next. She named it ‘mandala’ for its circular and repetitive form. It is meditative beading at its best! I’ve made three already and I rarely make more than one of anything!!!

You’ll learn this very cool new stitch thanks to it’s creator Gerlinde Lenz! Funky Amanda will show you how it’s done, where the hang ups are and how to finish the design like a pro. Learn the stitch using size 8 seed beads in two contrasting colors for a spiraling design. Once you ‘get it’ you can tackle a project using smaller beads and patterns.

I’ve loved loomwork since I was a kid, working on my plastic ‘Indian’ bead loom, but ALWAYS hated dealing with all the warp threads at the end. I’d come up with all sorts of (sloppy) ways to dodge having to weave the threads off. Fast forward 35 years to the Bead & Button show and the pleasure of meeting Paul Ricks in a neighboring booth doing loom demos on his new invention…a loom with only 2 end warp threads to deal with!
