Downtown Racine Art Walk (DRAW) is taking place on Saturday, November 19th from 3-7pm. Downtown galleries, studios and shops welcome more than two dozen artists to showcase their talents! At Funky Hannah’s, we’ll be featuring stonework and jewelry by Kevin Stellman and demos by lampwork artist Fran Hahn.

Start your weekend out with a summer fun at Downtown Racine’s First Fridays! All the charming shops are open until 9pm – with lots of specials and artist demonstrations! Three live bands entertain as you wander or take a horse drawn carriage ride through the historic district. At Funky’s you can enter to win a free class, see neat jewelry making demonstrations and see our latest class offerings! Free admission at The Racine Art Museum and glass blowing demonstrations at Hot Shop Glass will surely round out your evening before you head in to one of the delightful restaurants for a late night bite.

Mark your calendar for April 15-17, 2016 for our Spring bead camp for grown-ups held at the historic DeKoven Center, just a few miles south of Funky’s, on the shore of Lake Michigan. Registration opens Wednesday, March 9th!!!

Spring has sprung and we have some fun new plans up our sleeve for this camp including a beach walk at the Wind Point Lighthouse (collecting for our Sunday make-n-take), our fabulous massage therapist returns and by request, chair yoga for bead people! Camp also coincides with downtown’s new ART WALK…so if you are inclined to pop in and see some fabulous art, meet other cool artists and see demonstrations of lots of cool stuff, you’ll have a chance for a little outing late Saturday afternoon!

A Funky Media Frenzy!

This Sunday during the Super Bowl we all love to watch the fun commercials, right? Well keep an eye out for Funky Amanda in the CBS 58 commercial branding their newscast! They came and filmed at our sister business – Hot Shop Glass….and we are pretty sure we’ll get a second of air time during the big game. It was a lot of fun. Amanda made sure she had lots of bracelets on the arm with the torch. Beads need air time too! UPDATE: Here’s the link to the commercial!
